Snoring
long been considered little more than a nuisance. However, they are not
something we should ignore. According to sleep experts, snoring is a sign that
something happens.
"When
you snore, you spend too much energy to breathe," said Dr. Safwan Badr,
president of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. "Snoring is like
fever for internal medicine; she tells you something happens, but does not tell
you what ".
Snoring
occurs when the airways of a person constrict, causing, breathing, throat
tissue vibrate when air passes out there. "In principle, snoring is not
normal," he says. As a doctor, you would like to know why a person snores
in order to provide the best treatment, rather it is the person itself that is
responsible for their care. "I would make sure that the body is not
warning us of a breathing disorder during sleep or sleep apnea with anti-snore
stopper," he explains.
During
sleep apnea snorers stop breathing, and this can happen hundreds of times each
night. It is important to get an accurate diagnosis, because it has many health
implications. Apnea raises the risk of heart attacks, depression and diabetes.
Although snoring are caused by seasonal allergies or nasal congestion, there
are treatments that can improve these conditions or the anti-snore
chin strap could help with this, and only doctors know, he says.
Yet
many snorers and their poor bedfellows still looking small home remedies. Badr
tells us the options available on the market that can work, and others for not
worth spending time or money.
The
verdict: Forget about them. The doctor says that generally do not work. Nasal
passages of snorers suffer a severe narrowing, which means that some bandaids
can not act in sufficient depth. "They may (or may not) affect the
acoustic" he explains, "but not to the mechanics of the airway."
In other words, maybe frustrated fellow bed hear less noise, but the problem
will not go so easily.
