Essential Oils: Relaxing Properties of Soul and Body

Different kinds of essential oil have their own function, aroma and its own characteristics. When oils are mixed with each other they are also mixed benefits. Each essential oil, like aromatherapy lavender rose humidifier, has its own characteristic aroma and a unique therapeutic profile. Some oils are soothing and relaxing, others are stimulating and invigorating.

APPLICATION FORMS:
It is important to emphasize that oils should never be ingested, or applied directly to the skin. Therefore, always they used diluted with water, mixed with the so called "base oils" (neutral oils) or by diffusion in the air.

Massage: One of the most effective methods of aromatherapy, because the effectiveness of essential oils binds the therapeutic power of massage. In a base oil (sweet almond or apricot, for example) is diluted to 2.5% to 5% essential oil, depending on the chosen extract.

Bath: We can take several drops of essential oils on the warm water in a bathtub and then immerse for 15 or 20 minutes. By this means we are both inhaling the steam of essential oils as allowing these penetrate through our skin. Alternatively you can mix 3 to 5 drops of essential oil with three tablespoons of honey before pouring it into water.

Inhalation: We can put a few drops on a handkerchief and smell or we can take from 6 to 12 drops in a pot of boiling water, and then place a towel or blanket that covers both our head and the pot and inhale the steam for several minutes. You should be careful not to get too because we can burn the face with steam.

Dissemination: There in the market a wide variety of products to fill the space of a room or office with the aroma of essential oils. These products, called diffusers or atomizers, spread essential oils in a cloud of tiny particles. These diffusers can be useful in cases of respiratory ailments or just to fill the air with a fragrance either calming or stimulating. In office, the ultrasonic essential oil diffuser might be a great help.


Compresses: These can be hot or cold. They are used to relieve headaches, and muscle aches. Add 5 to 10 drops of essential oils to 4 ounces of water. a towel is soaked in this solution and applied to the painful area.
